Let's talk about a few common questions that we have when it comes to Deck Covers, Pergolas, and Gazebos.

How is the pergola mounted?

The pergola is anchored into a metal bracket which is mounted to a concrete footing or pad.

Do I need a permit for my pergola?

Anytime a pergola or cover is attached to the house a permit is required. Permitting requirements on a detached pergola or cover is determined on a city by city basis. The size and height will play a role in the need for a permit.

How long will my stain last?

There is always a minimum stain warranty dependent on the stain selected. The stain warranty often matches the structure warranty.

Shingles or Metal for the roof cover?

Metal offers a longer warranty, is more weather resistant, and sheds snow better. However, shingles can offer a cohesive look and flow from house to cover.

What will the underside of the deck cover look like?

You can finish your cover with tongue and groove or soffit to hide the exposed rafters.

There are many different ways to customize your pergola or deck cover, with nearly endless stain options to choose from! Finish the underside of the cover with soffit or tongue and groove for a clean look. Add can lights or fans to provide opportunities to enjoy your deck any time of day. Decorate your pergola or cover with lights, hanging baskets of flowers, or other plants to create a cozy nature retreat.
