Railing Choices for any Style

Your front porch is your guests’ first impression of your home, so put your personal touch and style on display with a railing that stands out. Adding railing to your porch or deck enhances curb appeal and safety. There are many different railing options available to you so let’s dive into the options!

Traditional Vertical Railing

For a classic and timeless look, a vertical option can add sophistication and safety to your home. Elevated Deck and Fence offers multiple vertical railing options such as vinyl and metal railing. Adding complementary colors such as the white vinyl with black balusters can add creativity to a traditional railing design.

Modern Cable Railing

Cable railing is a modern option that offers a feeling of openness, style, and uniqueness. Don’t waste the beautiful view you have, stainless steel cables can serve as a traditional guard without blocking your view. However, Cable railing might get loose after long time use and could be accelerated by kids who often climb on it. They can be fastened by adjusting the tensioner so a simple fix but something to keep in mind. If you want to keep your kiddos off of your railing, this option may be too tempting for them. Cable railing is a safe and durable option, if installed properly. Cable railing uses a different installation process from typical railing so it is important to seek help from a professional builder or thoroughly research the installation process before doing it yourself.

Composite Railing

Wood railing requires significant maintenance and the upkeep can become a hassle long-term. Composite railing is an easy choice for those looking for high-quality materials and low-maintenance solutions. There are many color options and combinations available in composite railing which gives you the opportunity to add a personal touch and personality to your deck.

Cocktail Railing

Cocktail railing uses a Transcend Tropicals, Transcend Earth Tones or Select Earth Tones deck board as the rail itself, making a flat surface that’s perfect for summertime beverages. Cocktail railing creates an inviting space perfect for entertaining. It is a great spot to rest a

drink, set a planter box, or hang lights, making it easy to personalize your space. If the primary purpose of your deck or porch is for entertaining, cocktail railing may be the right choice for you.

Glass Railing

Remove traditional balusters entirely and replace them with glass infill panels to create a modern design and unobstructed view. Glass deck railings can also act as a wind barrier which can be helpful in our area with high winds so you can enjoy your deck whenever you want and not just when the weather permits. Glass railing can make small decks and patios appear larger than they are by opening up the view, creating the illusion of a larger space.

The biggest downfall, cost. Glass railings cost more than wood, aluminum, or composite options so they would be a long-term investment as they are rot and decay free. Glass railing does require regular cleaning to look its best and offers limited privacy. Glass railing

is as safe as any other type of railing due to it being tempered glass, the building codes are strict to ensure safety, are hard to climb, have no wide openings and are rot and decay free. Glass railing is another railing type that requires a different process than typical railing. It is important to thoroughly research the installation process or seek out a professional for help.

Metal Railing

Metal railing is one of our most popular options. Transform your outdoor living space with durable, heavy-gauge steel railings featuring a textured satin finish to hide blemishes, dirt, and fingerprints. Enjoy a long-lasting, maintenance-free solution backed by a 15-year warranty, ensuring your railings withstand the test of time. Metal railing can offer a sleek and modern finish to your deck space. The clean and polished finish of metal railing offers another long lasting and low-maintenance solution.

Custom Gates

Custom gates are a great add-on option for individuals looking to add an extra level of security to keep pets and kids safe. Don’t have a fence but want to give your pets a space to roam free and relax outside? Adding a gate on your deck can be the perfect solution. Worried about your little one playing on the stairs? A gate can be a great deterrent and give you some peace of mind while they play and you relax.

There are many railing options to choose from. Your decision may be highly influenced by your budget and that’s okay! But don’t forget with the many different options you can still add your personal touch and style to your deck. We have multiple samples in our shop. If you are looking to view them in-person, please feel free to reach out to us to schedule a time to stop by!
