PVC Decks

PVC Decks

At Elevated Deck and Fence, we specialize in constructing high-performance PVC decks. As an installer, we love this material because of its unmatched durability and the 50-year warranty on the boards. If you want to enjoy the highest tier of decking technology, give us a call today so we can bring your dream deck, powered by PVC, to life.

What are PVC Decks?

Unlike standard composite decking which contains wood fibers, PVC decking is made from 100% cellular polyvinyl chloride. When paired with the expertise of a high-quality installation, this composition results in a deck that will stand the test of time. Its resilience is especially valuable in the face of Idaho’s climate. Between heavy snow loads and intense UV exposure, Idaho is tough on decks and while a traditional deck can warp, rot, and/or splinter in a matter of years, PVC is engineered to solve these problems. Another large benefit to PVC is its weight. PVC is nearly half the weight of most composites, making it a great option, especially for larger structures.  See below for some of the specific strengths of this durable material.

  • Unmatched Moisture Resistance: Because PVC contains zero organic wood fibers, it is 100% waterproof
  • Superior Heat Performance: Research shows that PVC decking, especially lighter-colored options, reflects sunlight more efficiently than composite materials
  • Maximum Fire Safety: High-quality PVC decking often carries a Class A Flame Spread Rating, the highest possible rating for building materials. This makes it more “ignition resistant” than traditional softwoods
  • Zero Maintenance: Alongside the 50-year warranty, PVC decks require no staining, clean easily, and are scratch and stain resistant

Why Choose PVC over Composite?

While the lifespan of a composite deck is 25-30 years and the moisture risk is low, a premium PVC deck is engineered to last 50+ years and has a moisture risk of zero. In addition, composite decks require occasional scrubbing and often have a 25 year warranty while a premium PVC deck requires a simple “rinse and go” and has a 50-year warranty. At Elevated Deck and Fence, we recognize the strengths of both and are here to help you work out what is best for the specific needs of your outdoor living area.
